Town, Cops Launch Alzheimer's & Cognitive Awareness Program
The program was created to help families and their loved ones dealing with dementia, including Alzheimer's and other cognitive issues.

GROTON, CT—In an effort to help families and raise awareness, the Groton Police Department is collaborating with the Groton Senior Center and the town's parks and recreation department to launch a Cognitive Safety & Awareness Program.
The program is intended to assist families and their loved ones dealing with dementia, including Alzheimer's and other cognitive issues, according to a police Facebook post.
In addition to collecting important information about persons with cognitive issues, we will provide families with information and resources to help navigate this challenging disease, police wrote.
