Texas Fugitive Wanted For Sex Assault Arrested In Groton: Police

Police arrested a man Thursday wanted on sexual assault and family violence charges in Texas.

GROTON, CT — Groton police arrested a man Thursday morning who was wanted in Texas on sexual assault and family violence charges. Marquis Ware, 28, who was last living in Abilene, TX will face charges of second-degree sexual assault and third-degree felony assault family violence. Both are extraditable crimes.

Town of Groton police arrested Ware as a fugitive from justice on two outstanding arrest warrants from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office in Abilene.

Police had received information that Ware was staying at a local hotel. Police found him at the hotel and arrested him without incident.

Ware was held on $150,000 cash or surety bond and scheduled to appear in court Friday.
