Greetings, all.......... 10/9/18
To those of you who signed the previous petition effort on Groton's Right To Vote, thank you again for your support. More details can be found at the website GRTV2018.ORG, and for those of you near Noank Village, we have information flyers available for you to pick up at the Carson's Store counter or on the front window table at the No Anchor market.
It is important that you (a) VOTE on Tuesday November 6th,
2018 and that you (b) also be sure to vote "YES" on the ballot
where it asks if you are in favor of the New Charter revision. The
polls are usually open from 6am to 8pm.

To avoid confusion, the voting locations are
supposed to be the same as usual BY DISTRICT. For example, if you are in
District 7, you vote at Fitch Senior High School. Some of you
live in other districts and use different locations, such as
Groton Library, etc. but check to be sure and have I.D ready to show
when you arrive.
For those of you unable to easily get out and around, for whatever reason, I can mail you a flyer at no charge and will be happy to do it. My E-mail address is edwardrjohnson610@gmail.com and my mail address is P.O. Box 981, Groton, CT 06340

There are a number of reasons to make this charter change. The overall purpose is to create a more efficient town government which will allow taxpayers more direct control on how their money is spent. The present RTM system was created back in the 1950's, long before computers and the Internet became available to so many of us. We can now locate most town information directly on the Internet and no longer need an entire separate body of government to represent us.
In short, if we are already being encouraged to vote directly for the politicians to represent us, we should be equally encouraged to vote directly for the town and school budgets that affect the quality of our childens' education and the services that we receive as taxpayers.
We now need to take direct responsibility for helping to make these decisions.
