Wild Weather Forecast for Groton

Pack your umbrella for Tuesday, Oct. 7, through Wednesday, Oct. 8.

For those planning on going outside to look at the blood moon lunar eclipse, you’re going to want to bring your umbrella. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the area.

  • Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 a.m. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 61. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 74. Southwest wind 15 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 46. West wind 9 to 11 mph.
  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 65. Light west wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning.
