Woman Dies In Groton Fire: Police
A woman was killed in a fire reported late Wednesday night.
GROTON, CT — Police are investigating after a woman died in a fire late Wednesday night. Groton town police responded at 11:58 p.m. to a structure fire at 300 Flanders Road in Mystic.
Members of the Mystic Fire Department, Old Mystic Fire Department, and Sub Base Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.
Elizabeth Gray, 79, was located in a bedroom inside the home. She was transported by Mystic River Ambulance to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, according to police.

The case is being investigated by the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit, Groton Town Police Fire Investigators, Groton Town Police Criminal Investigation Division, and the Mystic Fire Department.
The American Red Cross provided aid to other residents displaced by the fire.
