18-Year-Old Killed in Dirt Bike Accident in Guilford: BREAKING

GUILFORD, CT — An 18-year-old has died after being involved in a dirt bike accident Thursday afternoon, police said.

Police said they responded to a motor vehicle crash with serious injuries on Lanes Pond Road at 2:18 p.m.

Police said that the 18-year-old, whose name has not been released, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Police said the Accident Reconstruction Team responded and the preliminary investigation reveled that the victim had been riding his dirt bike on Lanes Pond Road toward its intersection with Beaver Head Road, when he struck a metal gate installed to prevent vehicle access to the area, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
