2 Killed In Wrong-Way I-95 Crash In Guilford: State Police

State Police have released the identities of the two people killed in the crash on I-95.

GUILFORD, CT — A wrong-way crash involving two vehicles on Interstate 95 in Guilford has resulted in the deaths of two people, State Police said Monday morning.

Jose A. Dias, 35, of Providence, Rhode Island was driving a 2018 Toyota Highlander northbound on I-95 north between exits 56-57 around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, State Police said.

Klever Cordova, 46, of Bunker Hill in Guilford, was driving a 2011 Toyota Highlander southbound on I-95 north, the "wrong-way on the highway," in between exits 56-57, State Police said.

"Vehicle #1 and Vehicle #2 collided into each other head-on and came to rest in the left travel lane of the highway," State Police said in an accident summary.

Dias was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision, State Police said. Cordova was pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said.

This incident remains active and is currently under investigation, State Police said. Any witnesses to the collision of the motor vehicles are asked to contact TPR Green 982 at Troop F, 860-399-2150.
