
Vista held its annual fundraising walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park on Sunday, November 2nd. This year’s WALK for Vista raised over $60,000, a record high for the event! The enthusiasm around this year’s WALK for Vista was overwhelming-- Despite the wind and cold over 260 participants on 30 fundraising teams (14 of whom raised over $1,000) came out wearing big smiles and lots of extra layers in support of Vista and its mission of supporting the personal success of individuals with disabilities.
The monies raised at the WALK for Vista benefit the programs and services of Vista as well as the Ed Gallant Financial Aid fund. Half of all net proceeds will be designated to the Ed Gallant Financial Aid Fund to help provide need based scholarship opportunities to individuals in the Vista program.
Event sponsors and community partners include 9 Town Transit, Cohen’s Bagels, Essex Printing, Diane Hunt Mason, A.P.R.N.C.S., Quality Care Drug, Scranton Library, Shore Publishing, Shoreline Community Women, Snap Fitness, Vornado Realty and Walgreens.
