This student was last in Guilford High School on Friday, October 9th. Contact tracing is being conducted by the Guilford Health Department to identify individuals with whom this student has had close contact in the past 2 days. (Close contact is defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as being within 6 feet of someone with COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes.) These individuals are being contacted by the health department and will be advised to stay home for 14 days since the last time they were around the student in person to see if they develop symptoms. If they do get symptoms they are advised to call their healthcare provider and the Guilford Health Department to discuss being tested for COVID-19. If you are not contacted by the Guilford Health Department, you/your student have not been identified as someone who has had close contact with this student.

Because of the limited number of people estimated to have come in close contact with the student and following guidance from the Guilford Health Department and the school district’s health professionals, Guilford High School and all of our schools will remain open in the hybrid learning model as planned through tomorrow. On Monday, the high school and Adams will continue in the current hybrid model while students in grades prek – 6 will return to school four days each week. Wednesday will remain a distance learning and early dismissal day for all students.

Guilford Public Schools will closely monitor this situation and will continue to work with both the Guilford Health Department and our advising physician. We will provide you with updates as needed. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Paul Freeman, Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools
