3 Escaped Bison On The Loose In Guilford: Police

Police said they first spotted a bison crossing the road in North Guilford Sunday morning.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department is currently on the lookout for three escaped bison.

Police said on Facebook one of the "feisty fluffernators" was spotted meandering across Long Hill Road, up a driveway and disappearing into the woods early Sunday morning.

"Sometimes the midnight shift plays tricks on you and you have to rub your eyes to make sure you are seeing what your brain is telling you it sees out of the raining, dark shadows," police said in the Facebook post, which has garnered over 500 likes and 120 comments as of Monday afternoon. "Well, today was one of those mornings when our officers happened upon a bison in the roadway."

Members from the 3B Ranch in Northford were out on trails looking for the animals on Sunday.

Police said the same "fluffalo" was seen in the same area of North Guilford Monday morning.

"If you see any of these 3 amigos wandering around, do not approach and call us immediately. We need to get them back home… on the range," police said.
