31-Lot Open Space Subdivision Proposed In Guilford

GUILFORD, CT — Vigliotti Construction is hoping to receive approval from the town for its proposed 31 lot open space subdivision located at Long Hill Road. A special permit application has been request from the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The project is currently pending as a public hearing. The total acreage involved is 76.8 acres and 53.4 acres would be preserved as open space, according to the proposal. The open space would help preserve natural resources along the West River, according to officials.

The proposal has been approved by the Inland Wetlands Commission.

This site is located on the east side of Long Hill Road, just south of Spruce Hill. Based on current zoning laws, the site could accomodate up to 42 lots and the developer is proposing 31 lots, according to meeting minutes. The public hearing on the proposal will continue on Sept. 4.
