3rd Annual Disc Golf Tournament Benefits Meals on Wheels

GUILFORD, CT — The third annual Disc Golf Tournament to benefit Meals on Wheels and sponsored by UPS stores in both Guilford and Clinton and in cooperation with the Guilford Parks & Recreation Department is set for Oct. 2.

The tournament for beginners and intermediate level players, will be held at the Rick B. Maynard Disc Golf Course at Bittner Park, 1346-1450 Durham Road in Guilford.

The tournament begins at 11 a.m. with a shot gun-style start, and is estimated to end by 2 p.m., with awards to follow.

There's an optional beginner clinic at 10 a.m. offered by course designer and Innova Champion Discs Ambassador Craig Smolin.

The cost is $30 and includes one disc, score card and one round of golf. Players may come as singles or in groups and will be paired with similarly skilled players.

Space is limited to 72 players, four per hole.
