The teens were tracked by DOT cameras, beginning in Westport, and apprehended after police deployed stop sticks in Guilford.

GUILFORD, CT — An 18-year-old Waterbury resident and three juveniles, with ages ranging from 14 to 17, were arrested early Monday morning after a pursuit that began in Westport ended in Guilford when state troopers deployed stop sticks, according to police. State Police were notified by Westport Police at about 3 a.m. on April 30 that they were in the pursuit of two vehicles, including a dark Acura, that were wanted in connection with several vehicle break-ins in Westport.

Westport Police terminated the pursuit in the area of Exit 18 in Westport and the vehicles continued on I-95 North at a high rate of speed. With the use of highway cameras, DOT personnel immediately located the vehicles in the area of Exit 25 in Fairfield, according to State Police. Both vehicles were then seen via DOT cameras stopping at Exit 30 with all of the occupants getting into an unknown sedan and abandoning the Acura, police said.

“DOT personnel were able to track the vehicle northbound on I-95 as responding troopers caught up to the vehicle in the area of Exits 43-44 in West Haven,” police wrote in a press release. “The vehicle, a stolen silver Hyundai bearing CT registration AM02845, was subsequently pursued by troopers northbound on I-95 until stop sticks were successfully deployed in the area of Exit 59 in Guilford.”
