'American Idol' Winner Nick Fradiani Visits Young Guilford Resident Fighting Leukemia

The young fan was surprised by a visit from the performer and reality television winner.

GUILFORD, CT – A young girl who has been battling Leukemia was treated to a big surprise for her birthday this year.

Chloe Mason-Mann celebrated her eighth birthday on Aug. 12 amid a particularly tough year for her and her family. The young girl, who also has down syndrome, was diagnosed with Leukemia on Jan. 27 and has been undergoing various treatments and making frequent hospital trips ever since.

Her mother, Amy Mason-Mann has kept the public up-to-date with a Facebook page entitled “Fight for Chloe,” which is frequently updated. The page revealed on Chloe’s birthday that a special visit had been made by one of the young girls “idols.”

“American Idol” season 14 winner Nick Fradiani and his musician father, Nick Fradiani Sr., paid Chloe a visit during her birthday party at the Mason-Mann household. The experience was captured on video, wherein the senior Fradiani greeted the young girl and sang “Happy Birthday” to her.

“I think I know somebody else that maybe sings way better than me,” Fradiani Sr. said in the video. “I think he might be here. Would you like to see who’s here?”

Chloe was then treated to a visit from the Fradiani son, who gave his young star-struck fan a birthday card. He had previously sent Chloe a video earlier in the year when she was diagnosed.

Fradiani played his song “Beautiful Life” for Chloe, even letting her strum the strings of his guitar. Chloe then “turned the tables” on the singer and sang one of his songs to him.

“Nick Fradiani is the best,” Mason-Mann wrote on Facebook. “Thanks Nick Fradiani Sr. for making this happen. We love you guys. You are the best, most caring family!”
