Drug Take Back Day To Be Held In Guilford: Details

Police say the program is intended to provide a safe and convenient way to get rid of unused or unwanted medications.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department is participating in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, offering residents an opportunity to dispose of unused or unwanted medications.

A medication drop box is located in the police department lobby at 400 Church St, and is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Police say the program is intended to provide a safe and convenient way to remove unused medications from homes and help prevent misuse while protecting the environment.

Items accepted include prescription and over-the-counter medications, medication samples, vitamins, pet medications, and medicated patches or ointments.

Items not accepted include sharps, needles, hazardous waste, liquids, thermometers, inhalers, aerosol cans, personal care products, and bags or boxes.
