Guilford Seeks Public Input on 2025-2035 Plan Of Conservation And Development

GUILFORD, CT — Residents are being invited to help shape what Guilford could look like for the foreseeable future as the Planning and Zoning Commission seeks public input on the town’s next Plan of Conservation and Development.

The commission has opened a 65-day public comment period on the draft 2025-2035 plan, a state-mandated document that guides decisions on land use, housing, transportation, conservation and community development.

Residents have until June 27 to review the draft and submit feedback.

Updated once every decade, the POCD establishes priorities that influence issues such as housing density, traffic, open space and historic preservation.

"Every decision we make is based on the priorities set in the Plan of Conservation and Development," said Acting Chair Roger Joyce in an announcement from the town. "We need to hear from you to ensure it reflects the priorities of the community."

The draft outlines 11 goals and a series of strategies organized around five themes: Live, Grow, Connect, Conserve and Sustain.
