GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Public Schools Board of Education on May 11 appointed Meghan Ferrara as the next principal of Calvin Leete School, effective July 1.
Ferrara currently serves as an instructional literacy coach in the district and has more than 19 years of experience in education, including work in literacy instruction, curriculum development and teacher coaching.
She has worked in Guilford Public Schools since 2013 and has supported district literacy initiatives, including implementation of science of reading and high-quality of instructional practices across grade levels. In her current role, she works with educators at Calvin Leete School through professional learning communities, coaching cycles and data-driven instruction.
"Having been a part of this community for the past decade, I am empowered by the trust placed in me to transition into the role of Principal at Calvin Leete," Ferrara said in an announcement from the school district.
"I look forward to collaborative conversations with our staff to foster educator growth and deepen our shared culture where all students thrive. I am eager to partner with families to support students in the joyful environment fueled by our dedication to each learner's success and the vibrant spirit of the Calvin Leete family."
Ferrara holds an Educational Leadership Certificate from Sacred Heart University, a sixth-year degree in reading from Southern Connecticut State University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Quinnipiac University.
