GUILFORD, CT — The third annual Guilford Porchfest event will take place on Saturday, Oct 3, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on downtown porches, stoops and driveways.
Spearheaded by Guilford resident Laurie Kenney, the event features performances by singers and musicians who live or work in Guilford, hosted by private residents and public organizations throughout the downtown area.
Kenney started the event in Guilford in 2024 as a way to bring residents together through the sweet sound of music. Many communities throughout the country hold their own porchfest events each year.
Residents can sign up to perform or host. Volunteer sign ups begin June 15.
"We welcome all genres and all abilities, from beginners to professionals! Are you a homeowner or business owner within a 10-minute walk of the Guilford Green, south of Route 1? Apply to host a performer or two (or even three) that day!" the Guilford Porchfest website says.
"Want to help? Sign up to volunteer to help us spread the word about this feel-good community event throughout Guilford and to keep things moving the day of the event! It takes a village, for sure!"
More information on the event and how to get involved can be found here.
