Road Work Scheduled To Begin Soon In Guilford: Details

Drivers can expect lane closures and short delays during the project.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Public Works Department is scheduled to begin chip sealing operations on Long Hill Road on Monday, July 13, weather permitting. The work is planned to run through July 24.

The work is a preventative pavement maintenance treatment designed to help extend the life of the roadway by sealing small cracks and protecting the pavement from weather and wear, according to the town.

One lane will be open through the work zone. Residents should expect short delays during the project. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Traffic flaggers will direct vehicles when necessary, and drivers are asked to slow down while traveling through the work zone for the safety of workers and the public.

The town also advised that loose stone in the work area is possible and a normal part of the chip sealing process.

The work schedule may change based on weather, the town said. Any updates will be posted by Guilford Public Works if necessary.
