The Guilford Police Department Is Hiring

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Police Department, which is accredited by both CALEA and the State of Connecticut, is accepting applications for the position of full-time police officer.

According to the department, the position offers opportunities to serve in a variety of specialized assignments, including the South Central Regional SWAT Team, Regional Dive Team, School Resource Officer program, Crime Prevention Team, Regional Traffic Team and Peer Support Team.

The starting pay for entry-level officers is $40.21 per hour, or $83,636.80 annually. Officers at the top pay step earn $48.09 per hour, or $100,027.20 annually.

The position includes competitive wages and benefits under the department's collective bargaining agreement.

The retirement plan includes an 8 percent employee contribution to a 401(a) plan with a 13 percent contribution from the town.
