Guilford Police Officers Honored By Mothers Against Drunk Driving

GUILFORD, CT — Two Guilford police officers have earned awards from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).

Officers Tyler Considine and Heather McPhillips received 2026 MADD Awards last week for their commitment to keeping Guilford roadways safe from impaired drivers.

"This is the second year in a row that Officer Considine has won this award, showing his dedication to traffic safety by his efforts in stopping impaired drivers," police said in an announcement.

"Officer McPhillips, who unfortunately was unable to attend the awards ceremony, has now received this award 7 years in a row and is a Drug Recognition Expert as well as a police phlebotomist," police added. "She uses her skills to train other officers in DUI enforcement and investigations and keeps up-to-date on current drug trends for the safety of our community."

The Guilford Police Department congratulated Considine and McPhillips on their achievements, saying their efforts in impaired driver traffic stops "have saved lives and will continue to keep Guilford roadways safe."
