BBs, Not Fired From Guns, Being 'Launched' To Vandalize Homes: PD
Cops are investigating after homes were damaged by BBs, with some suggesting the vandals may be targeting certain houses.

GUILFORD, CT — Not fired from a gun, police said, but perhaps a slingshot, at least half a dozen Guilford homes have been hit by BBs recently and police are investigating.
“We cannot say definitively they’re from a slingshot,” said Guilford Police Chief Butch Hyatt, but, “it’s not a gun.”
Hyatt said that the velocity of a projectile launched from firearm "doesn't stop at a window or a piece of siding."

“Nothing that we found, none of the damage, is consistent with anything fired from a gun. Somebody isn’t driving by with a pistol shooting at windows. It may be a slingshot or another device that could launch a projectile.”
As seen in a YouTube video, BBs are used in slingshot hunting and slingshot target shooting.

On the night of the tree lighting on the town Green, a resident reported on Facebook that their home was struck.
“...our home was attacked last night with two sling shot bb’s, breaking the window in our front room where children were playing,” the person shared.

And, said that they were told by police that theirs was the seventh “house targeted,” adding they were told that “all victims supported row A & C, had BLM signs, etc.”
The resident is referring to the contentious Board of Education election. Read about that here.
Hyatt said that the acts of “vandalism” are being investigated to determine if there is a pattern and that Guilford police are talking to nearby police departments to find out if other towns are seeing similar incidents or targeted attacks.
