Branford Man Charged In Guilford Car Vs. Bike Hit & Run: Police

Police say R. Neal Stom, 30, driving a black Honda, hit a bicyclist Saturday on Leetes Island Road seriously injuring them, and then fled.

GUILFORD, CT — A Branford man has been charged in a hit-and-run involving a car and a bicycle, police said.

According to Guilford Police Department Lieutenant Tim Bernier, Saturday at around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to investigate a car versus bicyclist collision in the 400 block of Leetes Island Road. The cyclist suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized, Bernier said.

Guilford investigators arrested R. Neal Stom, 30, at his home in Branford, and charged him with evading responsibility with serious physical injury, Bernier said.

Stom, who Bernier said was driving a black 2018 Honda Accord Sport at the time of the collision, was released on a $100,000 bond.
