Calling Kid Actors For GYFS Production Of Maurice Sendak Musical
Guilford Youth & Family Services will stage "Really Rosie" in May, but video auditions are open now through Jan. 15, for kids grades 5-8.
GUILFORD, CT —People of a certain age may remember the CBS-TV animated special "Really Rosie" from 1975.
The Maurice Sendak musical "Really Rosie" was adapted from several books written by the 'Where The Wild Things Are' author, with music by Carole King. The story is about an outgoing girl who sang and danced on her Brooklyn stoop — in Sendak's neighborhood growing up —and centers on a summer day in her life and that of the Nutshell Kids, a group of neighborhood friends, including Alligator, Johnny, Pierre, and Chicken Soup from the Nutshell Library books, and Rosie and Kathy from The Sign on Rosie's Door.
Guilford Youth & Family Services will bring "Really Rosie" to town in a production set for late spring. But now is the time for kids in grades 5 through 8 to sign up and submit audition videos.
