Celebrate 375 Years of Guilford this Weekend

The Guilford Citizen's Day Parade and the Guilford Fair will commemorate this landmark in the city's history.

The Guilford Fair will be held this weekend to celebrate 375 years of the city of Guilford.

Gates open at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Guilford Fairgrounds and close at 11 p.m., while the fair hours for Saturday will be from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Admission for the fair is $10 for adults, $5 for children aged 6 to 11 and $8 for seniors. Children under 5 get in for free.

Entertainment at the fair will include The Guilford Fair Family Circus, Nashville country star Frankie Ballard, antique tractor pulls and llama shows. See the full list here.

The Guilford’s Citizen Day Parade will coincide with the fair Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. at the corner of Whitfield and Boston street.

“The Guilford Fair gives our local and backyard farmers (young and old) a chance to showcase their fresh crops and livestock with the pride that went into growing or raising them,” John Hammarlund, President of the Guilford Agricultural Society said in a statement.

There will be free parking at a remote parking lot accessible by a free shuttle bus service. On-site parking will be $5.
