Come To Community Ag Day At The Guilford Fairgrounds
The event will celebrate Guilford's agricultural heritage and the new animal barns at the fairgrounds.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford Aricultural Society will host a Community "Ag Day" at the Guilford Fairgrounds to celebrate the town's agricultural heritage and the new animal barns at the site.
The event is scheduled for May 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it will feature many 4H groups, as well as FFA (Future Farmers of America) schools, including the Sound School for Agriculture in New Haven.
Attendees will be able to participate in educational displays and demonstrations in animal husbandry, bee pollination, maple syrup production, and a pedal tractor pull and agricultural "equipment touch" for kids. There will be a farmers market with plants for sale, too.

A ribbon cutting to celebrate the construction of two new barns will be held at 11 a.m. The ceremony will be attended by the Connecticut Commissioner of Agriculture, the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce, and local and state agricultural and resource agencies.
The Grant Liaison representative for the Connecticut Department of Agriculture will present two plaques to the Guilford Agricultural Society celebrating the two new barns.

The Farm Museum on the Fairgrounds will be open to view antique farm equipment, with interactive exhibits, and Bishop’s Orchards will be holding an educational forum on sustainable agriculture.
There will be a food truck as well as animal displays, gardening, and planting tips for spring, and more.
Admission is free and open to all.
