Come Out to Guilford's Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday

Along with the tree lighting, there will be plenty for Guilford residents to enjoy for a festive night on the town.

Guilford’s tree lighting will take place on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. on the Guilford Town Green.

While the event begins at 6 p.m., there will be plenty to do before that.

Enjoy the homes decorated by the Garden Club while you stroll down Broad Street. Many shops and restaurants will be opened during the evening. At 5:30 p.m., there will be a chili supper and wreath sale at Christ Episcopal Church and a Hand Bell Choir at St. George’s Church.

The tree lighting at 6 p.m. will be accompanied by a concert and carol singing on the green.

The musical lineup will include Brian Gilley, Adams Middle School Girls Ensemble, accompanied by Mark Sullivan and the SARAH Chorus accompanied by The High School Jazz Ensemble. Santa will also make an appearance.

At 7 p.m., the Elm City Girls Choir will perform at Christian Science Church. At 7:30p.m., treat your kids to the Magic Toy Shop at the Community Center. At the same time, Guilford High School Voices, Concert Choir & Orchestra will perform at First Congregational Church

GHS Voices, Concert Choir & Orchestra will be performing for a second time at First Congregational Church at 9 p.m.
