Community Rallies For Guilford All-Stars Softball Team In Little League World Series

The team will represent the New England region in the 2025 Little League Softball World Series in North Carolina.

GUILFORD, CT — The community is coming together to support the Guilford All-Stars softball team, which is heading to Greenville, NC, to participate in the 2025 Little League Softball World Series.

A GoFundMe fundraiser was created by Andrea Klein, one of the team's coaches, and it has garnered over $18,000 as of Wednesday morning.

The team captured the first state championship in Guilford Little League history this summer, and then rode that wave all the way through the New England Regionals in Bristol. The team capped off regionals with a 1-0 victory and a no-hitter to punch their ticket to North Carolina.

Klein noted that families will have to pay thousands of dollars and unexpectedly take time off from work to travel to North Carolina to support the team.

"We are seeking donations to help these families offset these unexpected costs and represent Guilford, Connecticut, and New England, at the highest level of softball play this country has to offer in their age bracket," Klein said.

Guilford is slated to play the West Suburban Little League team from Johnstown, Pa., representing the Mid-Atlantic region, on Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. from Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
