Coronavirus Guilford: Local Scientist Working On At-Home Test
Dr. Jonathan Rothberg of Homodeus of Guilford and a team of local scientists are working on fast-tracking a COVID-19 home-test.

GUILFORD, CT — Dr. Jonathan Rothberg of bio-tech company Homodeus in Guilford, has a home-testing coronavirus kit in the works.
Rothberg posted on Twitter that he and his teams have been working "around the clock on a 'at home' COVID-19 test."
He said he's working with the Yale School of Medicine and Penn State on a "simple kit we can make fast, and scale globally."

Rothberg, awarded the National Medal of Technology and Innovation by President Obama for inventing and commercializing high-speed DNA sequencing, is founder of life science and medical device companies including the company based in Guilford.
