GUILFORD, CT — Guilford Public Schools has been providing updates since last month on its measures and actions in preparation for, and response to, coronavirus.

In the latest update, the schools shared cancellations of school-related events that have been cancelled due to the potential spread of COVID-19,now officially identified as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization. The pandemic declaration refers to the scope of the new coronavirus — but not its severity — and means it has become a "worldwide spread of a new disease.”

School officials say, "if you are unsure if your event has been cancelled, please contact the event organizer.

All-school morning meetings are cancelled in our elementary schools.

March 11th Community Conversation: Understanding Racism, Religious Intolerance, and Prejudice has been cancelled. A new date for this conversation will be announced in the near future.

SEPTO (Special Education Parent Teacher Organization) has cancelled their March 16 Meeting.

The CIAC has made the difficult decision to cancel all CIAC Winter Tournament games.

GHS Woolsey Hall concert has been cancelled.

GHS Yale Rep field trip has been cancelled.

GHSTA is working to address/restructure the spring musical, Into the Woods. Information will be communicated soon.
