Coronavirus Guilford: Town Resident Dies

A Guilford resident died from complications related to the coronavirus, town officials announced.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford First Selectman Matthew Hoey reported that a Guilford resident had died from the new coronavirus.

"It is with great sadness that we share the news that an 88-year-old Guilford resident has died as a result of contracting COVID-19. It is heartbreaking that this terrible virus has taken a life in our community," Hoey said.

The town was notified of the death Saturday. As of April 11 there were 31 laboratory-confirmed coronavirus cases in Guilford.

Connecticut has a total of 11,510 confirmed cases, 494 deaths and 1,593 current hospitalizations.
