Credit Union Donating Coin-Cashing Machine Fees
The coin machine fee collected by the credit union in Guilford will go to support research and funding for a form of muscular dystrophy.

GUILFORD, CT — Convert your spare change into cash and help make a difference in the community with Connex Credit Union’s Coins-for-Change program. From now through March 31, 2020, the modest fee that Connex charges for using its coin-cashing machines will be donated directly to one of four charitable organizations.
Anyone can participate in Coins-for-Change, even if they are not a member of the credit union. Simply bring your spare change to one of the coin-cashing machines at the following locations before March 31:
- Connex’s Guilford Branch located at 849 Boston Post Rd. to donate to the Connecticut chapter of the Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) Society. The FSHD society is the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network of FSHD patients, families and research activists. Funds raised will be used for research and development.
- Connex’s Hamden Branch located at 2100 Dixwell Ave. to donate to Nadeau Farms, a working livestock rescue farm in operation since 1939 that offers fresh chicken and duck eggs, as well as goat yoga classes. Funds raised will go toward the continued rescue and care of animals.
- Connex’s Monroe Branch located at 155 Main St. to donate to Monroe Playground Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to replacing the aging wooden playground in Wolfe Park in Monroe. Funds raised will be used to progress the organization’s goal of positively impacting local children and the community for years to come.
- Connex’s North Haven Branch located at 412 Washington Ave. to donate to North Haven Youth Football, an organization offering flag and tackle football and cheerleading programs for local children. Funds raised will be used to purchase safer equipment and new uniforms.
Coins-for Change is offered as part of Connex’s philanthropic initiative ConnexCares. New charities are selected each quarter and more than $14,000 is donated every year through the program. If you are a local nonprofit or charitable organization interested in participating in the Coins-for-Change program, please contact Roquita Johnson at rjohnson@connexcu.org or 1-800-CR-UNION.
