CVS Opens Guilford COVID-19 Testing Site
CVS Health is opening 12 new COVID-19 testing sites at some CT pharmacy locations, including at the Guilford CVS, 1057 Boston Post Road.
GUILFORD, CT — One of CVS Health's COVID-19 testing sites will be the Guilford CVS at 1057 Boston Post Road.
State Senator Christine Cohen (D-Guilford) is encouraging residents to be tested.
“The public needs assurances that there is an ability to track and contain COVID-19 as we attempt to re-open Connecticut and return to some future semblance of normality in restaurants, retail establishments, and other public places,” Cohen said. “Public health is paramount. These dozen new testing sites are a welcome addition to gain the public trust and to ensure the health and safety of our citizens.”

Cohen said along with contact tracing and substantial PPE supplies, expanded testing is a necessary component of any plan to reopen Connecticut businesses and other facilities, and she encourages any member of the public who has symptoms matching COVID-19 or who meets Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria to pursue testing to preserve both their safety and public safety.

CVS Health’s testing site at the Guilford CVS will utilize self-swab tests. Individuals meeting Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria for testing, as well as age guidelines, will be able to access testing. Patients must register in advance at www.cvs.com beginning tomorrow, Friday, May 15, to schedule their appointments properly.
Testing will not take place inside any CVS retail locations. Patients will be required to stay in their cars and drive to the pharmacy window, where they will be given test kits and instructions. A CVS Pharmacy employee will observe the self-swab process, ensuring it is done properly, after which the test will be sent to an independent third-party lab for processing. Test results will be available in approximately three days.
As part of our commitment to help slow the spread of #COVID19, we’re opening more than 50 testing sites at select drive-thru @cvspharmacy locations across Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts & Pennsylvania. Learn more: https://t.co/5Xmw3EI4FB pic.twitter.com/kvkz4cIkzT
