Daniel Avenue Beach Renamed In Guilford
The honor went to a local resident who recently passed away.

GUILFORD, CT – The Daniel Avenue Beach has been renamed to recognize the advocacy of a resident who recently passed away. The Board of Selectmen has unanimously voted to rename the beach the Barbara Pine Memorial Beach at Daniel Avenue.
Barbara Pine was on the Parks and Recreation Commission for eight years and was an advocate for allowing dogs on the beach.

She was also a staunch advocate, officials said, for improving Parks and Recreation programs.
Officials noted that Barbara Pine lived near the beach and felt it was and appropriate move for them to rename the beach in her honor.
