Date Set For Next Guilford Budget Referendum Vote
Guilford residents rejected a proposed fiscal year 2025 budget on April 16. The Board of Finance has since made revisions.

GUILFORD, CT — Guilford's next budget referendum vote is scheduled for May 21 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all five polling locations in town.
On April 16, residents rejected the proposed $119,080,224 spending plan, with 1,300 residents voting for the $119,080,224 spending plan, and 1,688 voting against, according to results posted by the town.
A bonding question for renovations and improvements to schools passed by a vote of 1,749 to 1,235.

Overall, the voter turnout for the referendum was 18.4 percent, the town's results show.
During a special meeting on April 23, the Guilford Board of Finance voted to reduce the original budget by $1.15 million. The Board of Education budget was reduced by $835,000, and the town budget was cut by $315,000.

A budget meeting on the revised spending plan is scheduled for May 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Guilford High School Performing Arts Center.
