Road Reopened In Guilford After Tree Fell On Wires: Police

Crews worked to clear the affected power lines Monday morning.

GUILFORD, CT — A section of Moose Hill Road in Guilford has reopened after crews worked to remove a downed tree on power lines Monday morning, according to police.

The road was closed between Dolan Drive and Dromara Road. Police said there would be electricity interruptions during tree removal work.

"Moose Hill Rd is OPEN," police said in an update at 11:20 a.m. "Thank you for your patience and thank you to the Utility workers out there getting Guilford energized in this heat!"

According to the Guilford Police Department, Moose Hill Road is closed between Dolan Drive and Dromara Road because of a downed tree on wires.

Eversource is on scene, but police said it will take time to clear the area.

There will be temporary electricity interruptions while crews clear the lines, police said.

Motorists should use Route 146 to access south of Dromara and Peddlers to access

Moose Hill Rd is closed between Dolan Dr and Dromara Rd for a tree down on the wires. Eversource is on scene but it will take some time for the tree company to get it cleared. In the meantime, there will be temporary electricity interruptions while the crews clear the lines.

Please use Route 146 to access the south side of Dromara, and Peddlers to access the north side of Dolan Drive.

Police said they will provide updates when the road is open.
