During Dive Training In Y Pool, Guilford Firefighters Save A Life
Guilford's Dive Rescue Team was just wrapping training in the Westbrook YMCA pool when firefighters leapt into action to save a man's life.

WESTBROOK, CT — The Guilford Fire Department's Dive Rescue Team regularly undergoes open-water training, as part of quarterly requirements. In December, the average temperature of the Long Island Sound and area lakes is in the 40s, maybe lows 50s. So diving firefighters train at local indoor pools. Wednesday was one of those days when divers took to the pool, this time at the Westbrook YMCA.
Divers were finishing up their training and one member of the team noticed a man, surrounded by others, unresponsive.
The Guilford firefighter "quickly called out to other fire department members to help."
