GoFundMe Page for Guilford Teen Killed by Gun Shot Nears $100,000

Family of Ethan Song set a $5,000 fundraising goal for 15-year-old killed last week; goal was reached in hours and it is now 20 times that.

GUILFORD, CT - It was a simple message that the family of Ethan Song left when they started a GoFundMe page for Ethan, who died last week from a gun shot - but the message obviously touched a chord.

The goal the Song family set on February 1st was $5,000. As of this (Tuesday morning), the page had raised over $96,000.

The Song's message on the page says this: "This is a memorial to fund the life of Ethan Miller Song who passed away tragically on 1/31/2018. Money raised will go to support causes that Ethan believed in such as Animal Rights, Human Rights, and Gun Education and Advocacy. Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts, prayers, and love."

The message resonated. Perhaps it was the note that all the money would go to causes, who knows.
