Under the initiative, which began in May and runs through the end of September, the department said it will increase radar and laser speed enforcement in areas where speeding, crashes and citizen complaints are most common.
Police said the campaign is intended to be educational as well as enforcement-focused. As part of the effort, the department plans to release monthly videos encouraging drivers to slow down while also highlighting landmarks and attractions around Guilford.
The department also said it created stickers and keychains featuring the "Slow Down, Enjoy Our Town" slogan that will be distributed at future community events.
