Guilford Agent Receives Women of Excellence Award from Shoreline Chamber of Commerce
The award is given to women from several shoreline towns that have excelled not only in their professional lives, but as community leaders.

From William Pitt International Realty: William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty today announced that Guilford agent Nikki Travaglino was honored with the “Women of Excellence Award” from the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce. The award is given to women from several shoreline towns that have excelled not only in their professional lives, but also as leaders in their communities and as role models.
Travaglino was honored yesterday at the Women of Excellence Luncheon at Woodwinds in Branford, Conn.
After the death of her children’s father in 2008, Travaglino immediately started fundraising for The Cove, an organization that helps grieving children deal with the loss of a parent. That same year, Nikki exceeded her business goals and was one of the top five Realtors in Guilford in dollar volume. Since then, she has raised over $15,000 for the charity through dinner benefits, silent auctions, raffles, Facebook fundraising events, walks and more.

In addition to her efforts for The Cove, Travaglino recently became involved with Avon 39, a two-day, 39.3-mile walk that celebrates the strength and philanthropic commitment of participants who raise a minimum of $1,800 to accelerate breast cancer research. Jackie Peters, a Guilford resident and two-time breast cancer survivor, invited Nikki to join her group, Team PFF. Each year, Team PFF puts on a fundraiser for breast cancer research, and in 2017 the group raised over $26,000 at its “Putting on the Pink” benefit. This past summer, Travaglino was also named top fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s New Haven chapter after she personally raised over $6,000.
Travaglino was nominated for the award by her friend and colleague, Guilford agent Anne Scandone.

“Nikki Travaglino is an inspiration to all who know her,” said Scandone. “I have personally known her for 40 years and I have witnessed her become one of the most successful, caring and humble women I have ever known. As a rule, she exhibits professionalism under any circumstance and great leadership qualities. She never turns away someone in need and she always finds a solution, whether in her work as a Realtor, personal life, or in her philanthropy.”
“The women selected for this year’s award come from different industries and walks of life, but they all share several common traits such as a driven work ethic, leadership and a commitment to community through volunteering,” said Kathy Testa, Membership Director for the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce. “Nikki embodies all of these traits and we were excited to celebrate her and all of her philanthropic accomplishments at yesterday’s luncheon."
