As the 2026 school year comes to a close, Guilford's American Legion Post 48 is delighted to reflect on the successful expansion of their Youth Programs made possible in part due to funding support from the Guilford Foundation and the Guilford Community Fund.
The annual veterans essay contest, in the past a $1,000 scholarship award, was increased to also present a $500 award to a runner up. Additionally, a patriotic essay contest was held for 6th graders at Baldwin Middle School and for 8th graders at Adams middle school. Winners at the two middle schools were awarded $500 and a hoodie.
