The PNR system is a unique and innovative solution that uses reactive media for denitrification and a single liquid pump, if necessary, the town said in a news release. This type of system is only the fourth installation in the state and will greatly protect the water quality at Jacobs Beach.

To ensure the safety of residents and visitors, certain areas of Jacobs Beach will be designated as construction zones and blocked off with a fence.
