Guilford Boys Lacrosse Wins 2nd Straight State Championship

Guilford faced off against Fairfield Ludlowe on Sunday in the Class L championship game.

GUILFORD, CT — For the second time in as many years, the Guilford High School boys lacrosse team has won the CIAC Class L title.

The Grizzlies defeated Fairfield Ludlowe by a score of 9-2 on Sunday at Rafferty Stadium in Fairfield.

The team was led by Kaden Smith, who scored three goals. Reed Hovick and Canaan Labbadia-Colon each scored two goals, captain Blake Brysh chipped in with a goal, as did Tyler Chicarilli.

Guilford was up 5-2 at halftime, but expanded the lead in the second half thanks to efficient offense and stout goaltending from captain Michael Lawton. The team ended the game on a 6-0 scoring run.

Guilford finished the season at 18-4.

In 2025, the Grizzlies defeated Daniel Hand 12-11 to win the CIAC Class M title.
