Guilford Budget Referendum Set For April 8

In addition to voting on a proposed budget for fiscal year 2026, residents will also vote on two bond authorization requests.

GUILFORD, CT — The Guilford budget referendum will take place Tuesday, April 8, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all polling places in Guilford.

In addition to voting on a proposed budget for fiscal year 2026, residents will also vote on two bond authorization requests.

According to the town, one request would appropriate just over $1.9 million for building improvements, equipment upgrades, and design services for future projects at town school facilities.

The second request would appropriate just over $2.25million for town road and facility improvements, and equipment upgrades/replacement for the fire and public works departments.

On March 6, the Board of Finance approved a recommended $122,554,319 budget for 2025-2026.

Finance board members cut the Board of Education budget by $650,000, and the town budget by $275,000.
