Guilford Captures Division II Hockey Crown
Two high school state titles were decided Saturday at Yale University; a third will be contested Monday.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A pair of high school ice hockey teams celebrated winning state championships Saturday, and a third will do so Monday night.
The CIAC boys hockey finals began Saturday at Ingalls Rink at Yale University, with Woodstock Academy and Guilford prevailing in Divisions III and II, respectively. Northwest Catholic and Ridgefield will tangle Monday at 7 p.m. in the Division I championship tilt.

Division III - Woodstock Academy 7, Hall/Southington 3
- Top-seeded Woodstock Academy exploded for four goals in the third period to break open a tight contest and earn the Centaurs their first-ever state hockey championship. Nathan DeLuca had three goals and Avery Riva added two for Woodstock, which also received single tallies from Ryan Black and William Liscomb. Caleb Wilcox stopped 29 shots to earn the victory for the Centaurs. Jacob Mohr netted a pair of goals and Jeremy Fortin had one for the Warrior-Knights, who were seeded sixth.

- John DeLucia broke a 3-3 tie with 3:10 remaining and Jack Ring added an insurance tally to pace fourth-seeded Guilford to its third state championship, and second in Division II. Ricky Sandella scored the first three goals for the Indians, while Kyle Dwyer picked up the win in goal with 23 saves. Second-seeded Watertown/Pomperaug received goals from Troy Harwell, Elijah Rosen and Ryan Dunfee.
