Between employees and people who live downtown there isn't a lot of spaces left.

GUILFORD, CT – As promised, the Guilford Economic Development Commission has begun the task of tackling whether anything can be done to free up more parking spaces in the busy downtown area.
At the EDC’s November meeting, the commission discussed the parking issue, which was first brought up at the commission’s previous meeting – where members said they wanted to see what if anything could be done to ease the congestion downtown.

EDC member Frank Paranto said that he had visited just about all of the businesses in the down area to research information about parking.
He said he has determined there are approximately 110-130 employees who work downtown who may park downtown.

Additionally, EDC member Theodore Sands said there are another 20-50 tenants who live downtown that could be using parking spaces.
Overall, Sands said, there are about 260 total parking spaces downtown. When you add in the number of employees and tenants taking up parking spots, he said, that does not leave many parking spaces for customer use.
EDC members said they plan to be talking to members of the town’s Board of Police Commissioners in the near future to continue discussing what options there may be to bring additional parking downtown.
