The Guilford Fair Opens Friday, Here's What You Need To Know
It's time for the Guilford Fair! Established in 1859, it's the second-oldest agricultural fair in the state.
GUILFORD, CT — Children's zoo, the fair circus, an antique tractor pull, dancers, jugglers, a cattle show, rides, fair food, live music, the fair parade, for starters. It's time for the Guilford Fair, established in 1859, it's the second-oldest agricultural fair in the state. It opens Friday at 4 p.m. on the Guilford Fairgrounds.
What to know before you go:
When: Friday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Fair Parade
The Guilford Fair Parade is Saturday, kicking off at 10 a.m. from Stonehouse Lane. The parade travels north on Whitfield to Broad Street, over to Park Street down to Boston Street and over to Lovers Lane to the Fairgrounds. Guilford police say to be prepared for road closures starting at 9 a.m. Police said folks won't be able to access Whitfield Street between Stonehouse and Broad Street until the end of the parade, which they say typically lasts an hour and a half to 2 hours minimum. For those who need to access the southern section of Whitfield Street, use South Union to Stonehouse Lane. Learn more here.

Fair fare
A highlight at any fair is the food. Like the Guilford Police Department, "We are dreaming about the turkey legs, the gyros, the pizza, the fries, the cannolis, the ice cream ..." And the vendors at the fair to raise funds for a great cause.
