August 3, 2020
On Friday July 31, 2020 The Guilford Fire Department received notification from FEMA that a grant was awarded in the amount of $445,454.55 to replace the departments self-contained breathing apparatus. This will replace the current units that were purchased with similar grant funds in 2006. The new SCBA’s will be fully compliant with current industry standards and afford our firefighters the highest level of safety and efficiency. FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program is a highly competitive process with departments from across the nation applying for the available funds. The Town of Guilford would like to thank Captain Clint Haverkampf and Captain Brian Manware for their extensive work on this project.
