Guilford Firefighter Paramedics & EMTs Honored By Yale Center For EMS
The Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS awarded six of Guilford's bravest a unit citation for "exceptional and professional efforts."

GUILFORD, CT —The Yale New Haven Hospital Center for EMS awarded Guilford firefighter paramedics and EMTs a unit citation for "exceptional and professional efforts" in patient care.
Lifesavers are what they are.
"On November 18th, 2022 members of the Guilford Fire Department were dispatched to a private residence for a report of a patient experiencing chest pain. Upon the assessment of FF/Paramedic Chris Ziemba with assistance from Captain Clint Haverkampt, FF/Paramedic John Planas, FF/EMT Mike Perez and FF/EMT Michael Carri the patient was found to be suffering from a heart attack. FF/Paramedic Ziemba then activated the Cardiac Cath-Lab at Yale New Haven Hospital and transported the patient.

Upon arrival at Yale New Haven Hospital the patient was sent to the Cardiac Cath-Lab where a block of the right coronary artery was found and a cardiac stent was placed. The patient recovered quickly and was discharged to home in good condition two days later."
