Guilford Fundraiser Planned For Teen Teen Seriously Injured After Tree Fell On Him

A hairdressing academy on the Shoreline will hold an event to benefit Nick.

GUILFORD, CT – A hairdressing academy in Guilford will be hosting a Cut-A-Thon to raise funds for the family of an East Haven 16-year-old who was seriously injured when he was hit by a falling tree when he was cutting his lawn on July 27th.

The event, at Teach Hairdressing Academy on the Boston Post Road near Exit 57, will be held on Friday, August 18th, starting at 9 a.m.

The event will honor Nick Vessicchio, 16, who is still recovering from injuries he received when the tree fell on him while he was mowing his East Haven lawn.

#NICKSTRONG T-shirts can be pre-ordered for $10. They will be blue with yellow lettering. Nick Strong wrist brands will be sold for $2.

There will also be raffle prizes at the event.

Nearly $31,000 has been raised for Nick's family. In nine days of fundraising on a GoFundMe page, more than 500 people have donated funds for Nick.

The page says: “As we continue to pray for Nick and his family, we know he has a long road of recovery ahead.

“Please help show your support for the Vessicchio family.”
